On my recent visit to Westfield Stratford, I managed to be there the day the new Models Own Bottleshop opened!! Just the whole idea of a shop being shaped like a nail varnish bottle is just too much! All of the girls in there were so friendly and super helpful! One of them had heard of my blog too!! Which for me is like AMAZING! They had a 6 for £20 offer, so I thought I might as well pick up some bits, 3 being the Polish For Tans collection! I also picked up the new Hyper Gel Topcoat which I have tried and it’s freakin good! But I must confess I’ve never had gel nails before so I don’t know what they are supposed to be like but its defo got something more going for it than just a normal topcoat for that something extra. I also got the Matt Topcoat and Express Dry Oil.
Each of the polishes have a fab neon glow to them, which is why they are fab for tans! Even without a tan like me, they give that über pop of colour to any mani! They have a slight matt finish, so for these I added a 1 coat of the Hyper Gel topcoat. I absolutely love Sun Hat! Being a pink girl it’s so bright and fun! Flip Flop for me is the one that is gonna scream out with a tan! ITS SOOOOOO NEON-TASTIC!!! Beach Bag I will most definitely be using to crate some summer nail art, looks like a perfect shade for a sunset ombre. 1 coat did the job in creating an opaque coverage, but I always paint my nails with 2 coats for that extra boldness.
I’d highly recommend these polishes, even if you aren’t planning on getting a tan, they are super bright and super fun! I love Models Own anyway so am excited to experiment with these and I will be doing some nail art using my Matt Effect topcoat soon too!
Just a quick little nail tutorial today! As I am going to see Katy Perry on Tuesday at The O2, I thought I’d theme my nails based on one of my fave songs ROAR!!! I know in the music vid its a tiger but leopards make the same sounds hehe! To say I’m a little excited is an understatement, I have been going on an on about it for weeks, and I am not sorry! You can’t blame a girl for being a KATYCAT now! I painted my nails white on Friday as a base for some gradient pastels but ended up keeping them plain white! I really loved how clean and chic they looked.
Like always you want to protect your nails, so I’d advise to put a couple of coats of base coat on to keep your manicure fresh! Now with your white base painted and dry start dotting a selection of neon colours on each of your nails. You can do as little or as many times as you like depending on how compact you want the leopard spots. With the smaller dotting tool carefully outline your dots with black, try not to complete the outline to give that sploge effect leopards have. Adding some extra black dots in between completes the design.
Once that is dry seal your design with a topcoat to save any chipping and also flattens the nail art.
Leopard print works with some many colour combinations, the possibilities really are endless!
Keep an eye out on my social media for my Katy Perry updates as I will most defiantly posting throughout Tuesday night!!! Yay! I also have a really fun outfit all planned too!

These cute daisies are perfect to make any nail colour Spring/Summer ready.
Remember to have your choice of base + topcoat ready to keep your nails protected and nail art sealed!
1. Paint your nails with your base colour, this works best with an opaque finish so 2 coats is always best, this shimmery Essie Jade Green is gorgeous and so summery.
2. Now when the base colour is dry let’s get the daisy design done first. I always like to have the thumb and ring finger as my main design nails. With a dotting tool create the flowers with 5 dots close together. You can add smaller dots in the gaps as a cute little extra touch!
3. Now I used some nail studs for my daisy centres but if you don’t have any, not to worry they look just as good with a dot of gold nail varnish too. Dab a small amount of your topcoat into the centre of the daisy and place the stud on to it.
4. On the pointer paint with your glitter polish, you can either go for a solid gold or like I have done have it a shimmery gold over your jade green for a more sparkly look.
5. Finally seal your design with a topcoat to flatten the nail art and prevent chipping!
These nails look great in pretty much any set of colours! If you aren’t gonna use studs for the daisy centre having the centre colour match the pointer nail is nice way to tie the whole design together .
I’m thinking maybe some neon summer leopard nails for my next nail art? Any thoughts? I’d love to know in the comments below!
Til next time,

I have such a thing about phone cases! I have a drawer full of them, since upgrading to the iPhone 5S I have had to put away all of my iPhone 4 cases, including a very cute one with a pug face on it!
I’ve loved SkinnyDip for ages, I’ve had a few of the ‘bling’ cases before but I was in the need of an update, and this case! Oh my God! It’s pink and fluffy! And so freakin’ cute! I got it from there website for £18, but I know they do have concession stands in both Topshop and River Island. It arrived after about 2 days which I thought was really quick as they say on the delivery options it can take 3-4 days! It’s so soft and has a gold rectangle feature around the camera piece, which even though you can’t see the gold of my iPhone matches it perfectly!
I do love pink so thought I’d show off some of my fave pink nail varnishes too, both of them being Ciate. The light pink is ‘Amazing Gracie’ I like just having one coat of this as its quite sheer and can create the look of a french manicure. The other being ‘Kiss Chase’ a cute bubblegum pop pink!
So if you are looking for something a little different for your iPhone, then I’d say SkinnyDip is the place to look! I don’t think I’ll stray from there cases for some time to come.
Thought I’d share some must haves and maybes with you today. In the next month or so I’ve got a few extra bits to budget for, 1 being going to London to see Katy Perry! Eeeek! Which will mean getting some kind of tour tee and then we are also going to Westfield! The other being I am getting a new tattoo in June so I need to continue putting away some money for that! I’m really trying to be good and just pick some key pieces as I do have so many clothes and shoes and bags as it is! But of course you need to top up that pending summer wardrobe!
So here is my small collection of items that have caught my eye. Of course I won’t get them all but just there for inspiration too!
1. Gingham Skaters, £20 TOPSHOP
GINGHAM GINGHAM GINGHAM Not much else to say really! The really cute pattern is back and no longer looks like a milk maid type of thing! These skaters are perfect to throw on with jeans or a pretty skirt! I’d say an everyday shoe, getting you from A to B in comfort and style.
2. Double Buckle Flatform Sandals, £48 TOPSHOP
I’ve tried these beauties on in my local Topshop and they are so freakin comfy, kinda like a Birkenstock but with an awesome flatform! These are gonna be on my shopping hit list come pay day. Perfect for on holiday and to be honest I really want some white chunky sandals, and these look quite practical don’t they?!
3. Pool Sliders, £22 TOPSHOP
These just scream buy me! At £22 I’m really tempted, knowing my luck my Topshop won’t have any left in my size but fingers crossed they do so I can at least try them on and decide. Simple yet still sleek and stylish a summer take on the sport luxe trend? I think so, these would look great with some frayed shorts and a band tee or with a crop, midi skirt and cute white socks for a girly touch.
4. Holographic Pink Flatforms, £40 RIVER ISLAND
I think these flatworms are just gonna be a ‘I love you forever’ kinda shoe. I have featured them many times before in other wish lists, but now I keep talking myself out of buying them purely because apart from one outfit I have styled them with they won’t really go with anything else! Oh well! They are so pretty to look at though.
5. Tropical Print Cami, £17.99 NEW LOOK
Tropical is quite obviously IN this summer season! This floaty cami would be perfect with a body con skirt or even some high waited shorts, its super girly too! This is a definite maybe at the moment.
6. Tropical Print Crop, £9.99 NEW LOOK
Another tropical print which I adore. This tank top style crop is a longer crop which I prefer on me as I don’t like showing too much tim and with anything high waited this would look fab. And at £9.99 its a steal!
7. Geometric Print Bustier Bikini Top £16 + Matching bottoms £12 RIVER ISLAND
Always on the look out for new bikini’s, I normally raid Primark for a bargain but I need to branch out and have a look around. This gorgeous geometric bikini from River Island is just so…perfect! I am really loving high-waisted things at the moment, so these are great they tend to portray a more womanly figure so for me and what I call boyish figure its a thumbs up!
8. Blue Floral High Waisted Trousers, £32 RIVER ISLAND
I have these trousers in a red pattern and blue and with white polka dots, they are so flattering and this formal bright blue print will be great for the summer with some black sandals and a black crop.
9. Konad Stamping Set, £5 KONAD.CO.UK
I’ve been watching some nail art tutorials lately by Janelle from Elleandish, and she uses lots of really funky nail stamps to create her designs, I do love freehand painting on patterns and designs but thought that nail stamps sounds like a pretty good investment for quick and easy nail art! This is the stamping set that she uses and for £5 its a bargain.
10. Stamping Plates (Fairytale 06, Sci-fi 05) both £4.99 MOYOU LONDON
After having a look for the stamping kit itself I googled nail stamping plates UK and after searching around found MoYou London, these 2 plates look like 2 that I would get a lot of use out of. The mermaid looks super cute and that sci-fi one is so intricate I wouldn’t be able to create any of those designs freehand! And for £4.99 each they seem a pretty reasonable price for the amount of stamps you get on them.
I hope you like my picks of must haves and maybes, have any of these items now snuck onto your wish list? Do let me know in the comments below!
What You’ll Need « (L-R) Barry M Lemon, Maybelline Color Show Orange Attack, Barry M Matt White + Rimmel 60 Seconds Blackout
1. Always paint your nails with a base coat! I used my favourite Ciate Underwear. When dry paint your nails all over with the Barry M Lemon for a pastel chick! You can go brighter if you like, for a brighter chick you could use Maybelline Color Show Electric Yellow.
2. Now with the Barry M Matt white paint half your nail, and with a dotting tool add dots to the top of the white half to create a broken shell effect.
3. Again with the dotting tool you can add the eyes and the beak, for the beak use a smaller dotting tool and make a triangle shape with the dots overlapping.
And you are all done, quick and easy Easter chicks for this Easter Weekend.
I hope you are all having a fab weekend and have completely stuffed your faces with chocolate! I know I have.
