Hey Lovelies, how are we all? Sorry I haven’t blogged in ages. Since getting back from holiday I’ve just been a bit distant from my blog. And there is nothing worse than forcing blog posts. So I’ve been keeping track of any ideas I have had and am now ready to get back to it. I have been posting to Instagram so I haven’t been completely gone.
GOSH VELVET TOUCH LIPSTICK
Today I’m kick starting my month break with some new beauty products. Lets start with this GOSH Velvet Touch Lipstick in the colour Nougat. Wow, what a really fab lippy. I have quite thin lips so I often shy away from wearing lippy and head towards a gloss, but this dusk pink nude is so nice. I have to admit I have a similar shade lipstick from Loreal, but this one is so smooth and as the name suggests, velvety! It is an A/W make up staple for me, its dark enough to not look odd against my pale-ish skin.
No7 INSTANT RADIANCE
I love love love to highlight and contour. Not as extreme as Kim K but I like to look a bit bronzed and shimmery. These No7 Instant Radiance Highlighter and Bronzing Highlighter are perfect for summer skin and winter skin. The bronzing highlighter is great for when you have some colour, as it shows it off even more with that summer glow. The highlighter is great for brightening eyes and highlighting above your cheekbones. I use it everyday and the results are always fab. Below you can see what they both look like on my skin tone. Shimmering goodness in a stick!
GOSH 9 SHADES- TO ENJOY IN NEW YORK
I really am a sucker for eye shadow palettes. This muted purple hues one by GOSH is so pretty and girly. I love the look of a purple smokey eye and this palette helps me create the perfect day smokey eye for work! The middle 3 colours are my faves they are so autumnal. For £9.99 in Superdrug I think it’s a really great addition my make up collection which does consist of a lot of Urban Decay. This palette fits in so well with my Naked 3 Palette.
Have you picked up any new beauty products lately? Let me know in the comments below, I’m always stalking the make up isles when I go shopping!
Oh! You can find the whole range of Gosh Cosmetics in Superdrug stores or online >here< (this post isn’t sponsored I just really love finding new beauty products).
Hey Lovelies, I’m backkk!!! To gently get back into blogging after being away in the beautiful Tenerife (gathering all my photos for a post that will be on here soon) :) I thought I would indulge in a little wish list/style up post, there are quite a few picks today! I thought it would be wrong to let this dark and spooky time of year slip on by! HALLOWEEN! I haven’t got plans this year, like most years I’ll probably be in, wrapped up on the sofa watching a non scary film (I’m a scaredy cat) in my giraffe onesie. But that doesn’t mean I can’t drool over the gorgeous Halloween inspired pieces that are all about at the moment. Which by the way can easily be styled for Christmas/AW too :) Win win!
ASOS Little Mistress Navy Sweetheart Dress
I love the sweetheart neckline on this dress, also the navy colour is not something you would usually see on Halloween. Pair with some black accessories for a modern take on the Halloween night out outfit.
ASOS Pointed Bow Heels
Bows. Is there really much else to say about these shoes. Okay, so yes there is a bit more to say, how freaking cute are these. Taking a classic shoe and adding a simple black bow at the ankle! Genius!
ASOS Green Beaded Clutch
I really like this emerald-green beaded clutch, pair this with a simple all black outfit as a stand out piece.
TOPSHOP Sequin Panel Pleated Dress
Now, this Topshop dress has been on my wish list for ages, well, the wish list in my head that is! It’s stunning I love the different textures and lengths, this could be a possibility for a work Xmas meal outfit at this rate! I LOVE IT!
ASOS Halloween Embellished Choker Necklace
Talk about gothic chic. This is an extremely beautiful and intricate piece of jewellery, reminds me of the costumes in Underworld! Sophia Myles wore some stunning pieces.
TOPSHOP Webbed Tights
Something a little fun! I am always on the look out for quirky tights to wear to work to snazzy up the uniform, these web tights are perfect for Halloween!
TOPSHOP Red Plunge Jumpsuit
I don’t usually gravitate towards red, but this jumpsuit is so elegant and definitely means business, I’d layer this with a mess top underneath and some black high heels for a vampy evening look.
ASOS Halloween Gothic Rose and Lace Headband
This headband is AMAZING! Gothic vibes all around. This really is a ‘wish’ piece as I wouldn’t know where to start with styling it on myself! Definitely something to look into in the future.
TOPSHOP Halloween Scrunchie
Another fun item from Topshop, I love scrunchies and this Halloween themed one is too cute. Especially when you have to wear your hair up for work this is a nice and simple way to incorporate some of the Halloween spirit into your everyday look.
NEW LOOK Mesh Baroque Tee
This tee is fab for layering, using under a dress or jumpsuit or over a bright crop will revamp any piece of clothing in your wardrobe with a gothic twist.
NEW LOOK Black Lace Sleeve Crop
I LOVE this black lace sleeved crop, I can easily see Wednesday Addams wearing this. This would go really nice with a burgundy miniskirt and Docs.
NEW LOOK Pure Colour Burgundy Lipstick
I can’t wait to go into my local New Look and pick up some of their new beauty range. This deep burgundy red is perfect for A/W and for creating sultry vampy make up to complement a gothic look. It would also look great with very natural make up for a stamens pop of colour.
NEW LOOK Black Faux Fur Trim Heels
These fluffy heels are everywhere, I know lots of other places do them, but New Look are my fave high street store for shoes! They are adorable, with fluff adds a cuteness to them and ultra girly vibes. With pay-day looming they might be making a new home for themselves with me very soon.
I hope you like my Halloween inspired picks, if you like them they are all linked above :) Feels good to be blogging again, I am currently settling back into things. I know I was only gone for round about 2 weeks, but you can’t rush things when coming back otherwise it would feel like a waste of a really lovely holiday and time away. And I am in no rush to let go of the holiday vibes! :)
Hey Lovelies, I have been growing my hair for so long now, with the aim of having dreamy mermaid hair. Well the dream is over, my hair was a great length but was all tatty and a mess to be honest, I tried my best to make it look nice. But in the end it was just hanging there not doing a lot. I decided to go and get it refreshed. I used to go to Toni & Guy all the time, so I thought it would be best to go there again. I knew I didn’t want to go crazy short, but to me the length I now have it it of course so much shorter than before. And my hair feels so much better for it. I showed Josh my hairdresser a selection of hair inspo photos and he really listened to what I wanted and what my hair is like. The blunt cut is so clean and neat, it has really given my hair a new lease of life. I am now debating getting my dip dye redone or just going for a whole new colour. But that will have to wait till after my holiday. Josh used Label M Sea Salt spray to give it some choppy texture after straightening it. Luckily I have some Label M products already so I can recreate the look myself.
Have any of you ever gone for a hair cut and been truly happy with the result like me? Isn’t it the greatest.
FYI this is the last post for a week anyway that is not scheduled. I will be off on my holiday to Tenerife. I have some posts scheduled for you, and I will be updating my Instagram throughout the week anyway :)
Hey Lovelies, I went a little make up mad in Boots the other day! A very clear ‘bronzed’ colour scheme had emerged by the end of it. To say that I am having a constant battle with my eyebrows is an understatement. I haven’t done anything to them now for about 4 months I think. Just letting them grow and grow until they basically have no shape at all, so I can go and get them done professionally. It is about time I go get them seen to. In preparation for this historic event, I ended up purchasing some much needed brow stuff. I do love my Benefit brow powder, but when a girls on a budget she has to be sensible. I will go back to Benefit, but for now I thought I’d change things up and go for a more ‘high street’ make up brand. Rimmel have recently released some brow mascaras, so I thought I’d give them a try. I got BROW THIS WAY (4) in Medium Blonde and Dark Brown, I sometimes find that my eyebrows are way too dark so I thought I could somehow mix the two. I also got (5) a Maybelline Master Shape brow pencil in Soft brown. I haven’t tried it yet, but if its too light it will be adopted my my mama.
Moving on from brow products to some bronzed/golden products. (1) SEVENTEEN Instant Glow shimmer brick, a gorgeous set of 4 golden shades to swirl onto your bronzing brush/blush brush to create that bronzed sun kissed look or for some slight contouring. The lightest colour is also really nice to use singularly as a highlighter. (3) I think I purchased this Rimmel WONDER’FULL mascara because it contains Argan Oil, and we all know the wonders it does to your hair. So why not treat your lashes with some TLC. I’ve been using it about a week and so far, I can’t tell if its softens them or anything, but they are still very full and big which is what I like in my lashes.
Now for the more interesting purchase, well for me anyway. (2) Maybelline Kajal Liner in Gold is a very creamy kohl eyeliner. I am one for using pen eyeliner, in black. But I thought, lets try something different, and give my eyes a hint of sparkle. To open my eyes up I am going to be using this gold eyeliner under my eyes.
Hey Lovelies, after a long amount of time I finally caved and purchased an Urban Decay Naked Palette. I own the Smoked Palette already but was looking for something with some pinky hues which I just love the look of. It was quite difficult to choose between the 3 palettes as I LOVE the gun metal grey from the first palette, but in the end I thought, go for it, get the more girly colours, it’s not all about the smokey eye! (It is though). I can honestly say I’ve never owned an eyeshadow palette before, like this one, with such a vast amount of shadows. It also comes with a double ended brush, one for the lid and the other end a fluffy brush for the crease and all that blending! I forgot to photograph something else it comes with, 4 mini sachet type squishy things that have a sample of all 4 of the primer potions.
Now its time for some swatches!! As you can see I’m a bit like a ghost/zombie without all that eating brains business. Just look at all those pinky/neutral hues. My fave combo so far is LIMIT and NOONER, which are the 2 matt effect shadows, I do like shimmery eyes, but its nice to mix things up a bit. I’m gonna be brave and do some kind of get ready with me post soon, where I can feature these gorgeous shadows in more detail. You might have to wait until I get my eyebrows done though! Some serious caterpillar action is happening at the moment.
I’ve been using STRANGE as a highlighter, just a small amount on the inner part of my eye lid, gives a nice “I’m awake” kinda look, which is very useful seeing that I’m normally doing my make up around 6am!
Have you got any of the Naked Palettes? Do you have a favourite combo that would be worth a try? I’d love to know in the comments below.
Hey Lovelies, I can’t say I am one of those girls who has lots and lots of different perfumes, I pretty much stick to what I like! I am however going to get a new one at duty free when on holiday! I have 4 fave perfumes, I have no clue how to properly describe them but I thought I’d give it a go! And pair them with their similar shoe partner! Yep, I’m an odd egg!
‘Florabotanica’- Balenciaga, this is such a pretty perfume, as you can guess from the name of it, its full of floral tones. I tend to wear this perfume when going out for a meal or something a little more formal, to me its a ‘grown up’ perfume, which I know sounds silly but it is a little more sophisticated than some.
‘Acquia Di Gioia’- Giorgio Armani, this perfume was a gift, it was in a set with some body lotion and body spray. As you can see I use this one quite a lot, it’s quite a fresh perfume, not too heavy, great for wearing everyday.
‘Gucci Guilty’- Gucci, I have to admit, the advertising for this perfume really got me hooked, well done Gucci marketing! I love Chris Evans aka Captain America and Evan Rachel Wood, BABE! With a Sin City vibe too, I knew I wanted this perfume! Its my going out scent! I feel really confident wearing it, strange I know, but non the less true.
‘Loverdose’- Diesel, my subtly sweet-smelling fragrance, I love this so much. This is a close 2nd most used to the Armani. What else could I pair this sweet but sexy perfume with! Dr Martens of course!
Have you got any of these perfumes? Which one is your favourite? Do you prefer ‘sweet’ or ‘fresh’ fragrances? Let me know in the comments :)
Hey Lovelies, I’m calling this a review but I suppose its more of like a first impression! I picked up Glamour Magazine about a week ago to find it included an Eyeko Liquid Eyeliner. Worth £24, definitely worth a try for only £2, and that’s with the magazine too! Bargain.
I love felt tip pen style eyeliners, I find them easier to create a cat eye or just a precise line. I normally use Maybelline Precise Liner and haven’t strayed from that for a about a year now, its slightly thinner at the tip but does dry out quite quickly I find. But it does the job for me.
Now lets introduce the Eyeko Eyeliner. Wow! I have fallen in love with an eyeliner, I’ve been using it for over a week now, and that’s a long time to stick to a new eyeliner I think. If it can withstand a day being bombarded with steam from a coffee machine and dishwasher and not be smudged all over my eyes then its an okay from me!
But seriously, the pen itself glides so smoothly you are in for a perfect line straight away. It has just the right thickness to create a cat eye with one stroke, all you have to do is joint it up to your eyelid line. I might have to see if there are any magazines left in the shops, as I know they have just resale there August issue. For £2 I might as well stock up on them!
Have you tried Eyeko products before? Did you manage to get any of the other products on offer in Glamour magazine? I’d love to know what you guys thought too.
