Hey Lovelies, quite a causal look today. This Love Clothing Coat is so versatile, its so snuggly warm and goes perfectly with some cosy knitwear. This black and orange knit from H&M pops from underneath the oversized coat. I kept the look simple with some blue jeans from Primark, my fave jeans from there. They fit perfectly and don’t look the tightness. Another outing for my new shoes from Topshop, aren’t they the prettiest?! I dug out this back pack from Accessorize as its so big it can hold lots of my rubbish in it, as all my bags have the key things in plus every lipstick I own and a thousand receipts!! And as you can see, this outfit (and the rest this week) as pre hair cut! I will be snapping my holiday looks most probably as this post goes out! :)
Hey Lovelies, today’s look is as you can see all about tartan. I fell in love with tartan last year and I think its safe to say its slowly creeping back. Yay! As you guys know I write as a weekly contributor for Love Clothing’s blog, as appreciation for the posts I’ve been writing they sent me an item of my choice from the site. I was so overwhelmed by this, as I just love writing about fashion and trends for the blog and never expected anything like this to happen from it. This coat however, is stunning. I love the oversized trend that’s been everywhere at the moment. It’s so 60’s! I loved the monochrome vibe to this coat, as we all know I’ve been loving black grey and white lately. I paired it with my red tartan dress from Primark, as I love how the bright red and monochrome bounce off each other. I kept my shoes simple with some chunky heels from New Look.
Hope you are having a good week so far! It’s the final of Great British Bake Off tonight! I want Richard to win! But who knows what will happen! I have another look with this beaut coat coming soon, its more casual! So keep an eye out for that. Also I’m going on holiday next week so will be scheduling posts for when I’m away! Expect some beauty posts which I haven’t done in ages!
Hey Lovelies, lately I’ve been trying to amp up my Instagram! I love being able to share blog posts/ snippets over there is fab. I also like that when I’m feeling a little unmotivated with blogging I can always rely on posting on Instagram to keep you guys in the loop with my latest fashion finds and general musings.
I really like themed accounts, Islaay is one of those beauties that has a really great Instagram account. Like with everything I took inspiration from all my fave bloggers to compile my own Insta style. Would any of you be interested to see how I edit my Instagram photos? Thinking I might do a short post about it, let me know in the comments if you would be!
I thought I would do a quick round-up of some of my favourite snaps since my revamp. :)
I think its safe to say that I am a fan of the ‘hold something up on plain background’ shot! It’s also nice way to show off my butterfly tatt! A new thing that I have started doing is placing my outfit out on my bed, very much like my fave brands on Instagram Ark Clothing, this is nothing new or something I’ve created. I love the simplistic nature to the shot, with everything in its place. Material mash-up snaps are so much fun, normally after I’ve been out shopping I’ll overlay the clothing times together and take a snap, gotta love funky prints. How could I forget food snaps, I never really have Instagrammable lunches, not unless any of you wanna see my Monster Munch packet hehe! But wherever I go out I love to take some candid snaps of the food I’m about to eat.
I hope you have like my short and sweet Insta Round Up. And if you do like the snaps I’ve shown and want to see more, just click the lil camera icon in the sidebar or below :)
Oh, I also have some for me anyway BIG news (which some of you might have seen on my other social channels)! Via The Blogger Programme I’ve been able to connect with the lovely guys at Love Clothing, and I’ve contributed a post for their revamped blog. My post is a short piece about the mega babe Ella Eyre, if you fancy a read you can find it > here < I’m hoping to write some more posts for them, I’ll let you guys know when things get rolling!
Hey Lovelies, On Thursday I attended The Blogger Programme Summer Party. It was so nice to go to an event in Norwich (where I live, well 10 ish miles away). The event was held in the event space at The Birdcage.
My first event with actual brands there to chat too! I was a little nervous, but I met Charrlotte who is such a sweetie and we stuck together for the evening. (Click on her name to go to her Youtube). I also met up with Claire who I haven’t seen since the East Anglia meet up so it was really nice to catch up!
Things to look at: A stunning selection of clothing, I adored everything from Love Clothing, all of the white items pictured above! Especially the white lace items! Gorgeous! Also a stunning petrol blue thin pleated maxi dress from Tonic, definitely a stand out piece! Lush Norwich we also there with a selection of goodies, the room smelt amazing, I normally find Lush quite overpowering, I know how very un-blogger of me, but they had just the right amount to not suffocate me! haha!
Flamingo Amy was also there with her retro hair styling. What that girl can do with some backcombing and come bobby pins! Wow!
Food: Charrlotte and I were waiting for someone to make a move on the very yummy selection of cupcakes on offer, the icing was amazing! And the cute sugar paper Blogger Programme logo was super cute. Grosvenor Fish Bar also provided some mini fish n chips, which I didn’t actually get a photo of but I did try a chip and it was yummy!
I got my photo taken too, with Charrlotte as we were both a little unsure of posing in front of a room of people! I personally wasn’t overly confident as we all know I normally take my outfit photos solo in my drive! Haha! (I will post them when they are put online). It was so nice to meet some of my favourite bloggers too. I got to say ‘Hey’ to Melon and had a chat with both Leanne + Carly. Such lovely ladies!
Was great to be able to connect with brands too, like Love Clothing + Blakely Clothing. So great to talk to Victoria from Love Clothing, so approachable and was just happy to chat with me, and Gareth the owner/creator/muscles behind Blakely! Fingers crossed that maybe in the future some collabs can happen! I was very proud of myself for actually bigging up my blog, as I know it’s not the biggest but I love it and am very proud of how its made me more confident in myself. :) Good vibes! Yeah!!
And…. I got to hand out a few of my new blog business cards! I felt all profesh!!
I had the best evening, and I look forward to the main Summer Party that is hopefully gonna happen in September!! Ooo how could I forget, got myself a jam-packed goodie bag! Will post that up tomorrow!
Yay, happy blogger vibes! :)
THE SUN IS HERE! Time to dive into the back of your wardrobe, or in my case to the shops and online to update your summer wardrobe! So seeing that the sunshine is finally here I thought I’d put together some summer looks based on the ever so cool sibling duo WILD BELLE. I have picked out some of my fave pieces from LoveClothing.com which can be injected into the styles of both Natalie + Elliot! I have to say, I found some really lovely pieces to spruce up any summer/festival wardrobe.
Perhaps I should give you the low down on WILD BELLE in case you aren’t familiar with them. They are a brother and sister from Chicago, who branched out from a previous band to create WILD BELLE. Their music is very summery + soulful. Their debut album Isles was released last year and I have had it on repeat ever since, it was an impulse purchase last year. It was one of those moments when you hear only one song and just end up buying the album. Their most recognisable track is ‘Keep You’ which can be found »here« . They both have a very laid back style which to me screams über coolness and a style that can be taken to any festival or holiday destination over the summer.
I adore Natalie’s style, always mixing and clashing patterns. Stand out pieces are a must. Look out for bright crops and patterned tee’s, and don’t be afraid to clash things up. Something that I am trying to do more of lately. The Juicy Fruit Crop would look fab against some electric blue culottes, just keep your accessories simple if you are worried it will look too much!
Floaty is a perfect partner for summer, sometimes you just want to float around all whimsical with flowers in your hair. The white Mink Pink playsuit is perfect for just that, layer with boho inspired jewellery like the long dream catcher necklace. For those chilly evenings throw on a cool Camo jacket for an added hit of grunge to your boho playsuit. No matter what your style you can always make an item work for you. It’s all about what you pair it with!
Elliot’s style is sometimes a face turner, he’s been seen in some rather snazzy shirts before. When it comes to statement shirts, I personally like the look of keeping the bottom half of the outfit simple. A black pair of jeans will do the trick, turning up the ends will add some edge to the look. When wearing all over patterned shirts go for muted colours to give off that indie cool vibe like Elliot. Purples and blues create tonnes of rich texture to merit that double take! I know that throwing on some trainers might be the easiest shoe option but think like Elliot! Go for smart shoes, I found such a vast selection of boots and shoes that it was really hard to narrow it down to just a few. My favourite has to be the Paolo Vandini Pavel Cuban buckle boots, talk about ‘smooth’. Just look at them, if they made a women’s version I would totally buy those bad boys!! haha!
For us girls think floaty and free, for the guys go smart! WILD BELLE really are a fab duo both musically + in style! They compliment each other so well. I had a blast searching for pieces on LoveClothing.com, again proving that no matter what shop you can find something that suits your style. Don’t get pigeon holed into one shop thinking they are the only ones that make your style clothing. Have a look around and you can find some extra key pieces, I am so tempted with that Kitten tee crop! So cute!
